In order to follow government guidelines and to minimise the risk of infection of Covid-19, here is the procedure for appointments at our clinic.  Click here to see the latest Government advice. 

Here's what will happen after you have done an online booking.

 

You will be telephoned the evening before, between 5pm and 8pm, by your practitioner to check if you are showing any signs of infection.  If you have any signs we will not be able to treat you. We will also catch up on your health or if you are a new client, do a full client history over the phone. This will minimise the time spent in the treatment room.  During our conversation the practitioner will discuss the safety measures we have in place and she will email you a consent form which you need to read and email back before the appointment confirming that you agree to the consent. This will happen before every appointment.  You will also be required to agree to inform us should you contract Covid-19 in the two weeks following your appointment: this is required by the Government to assist with Track and Trace.

 

Please visit on your own unless you require a carer.  There is a car park at the rear of the building.  Please remain in your car and your practitioner will come out to meet you.

 

Your appointment:

 

  • Upon arrival, you will be required to wash your hands

  • You will also be temperature checked

  • Please wear a disposable mask if you have one or we will provide one

  • Bring your own towel to cover you

  • Please bring your own water bottle

  • Please make sure you have been to the toilet before arriving at the clinic

  • Please do not touch any surfaces apart from the treatment couch where possible

 

For your safety and in keeping with government guidelines in the treatment rooms, we will keep to their strict health, safety and disinfectant procedures:

 

  • Appointment times will be staggered

  • All common areas and the treatment room will be disinfected before and after your arrival

  • Window ventilation will be provided 

  • There will be 15 minutes between each patient to allow for disinfection time 

  • For acupuncture clients, the practitioner will not wait in the treatment room whilst the needles are in place, but will be in the room next door if you need her

  • Wherever possible 2 metres will be kept between you and the practitioner but due to the nature of the treatments this is not always possible. 

 

I am afraid we have decided not to take cash or cheques, so payment is by card only.

 

If you are clinically extremely vulnerable and have been advised to exercise ‘shielding’ then I am afraid we will not be able to treat you.  Lulu will be happy to do a distance treatment instead, with you in your own home and the treatment being done in the therapy room. We are prepared to treat clinically vulnerable people, so those over 70 and those under 70 with an underlying health condition.  This is because we have adopted strict health and safety guidelines for our clinical practice.

As part of your agreement to be treated at Tanfield Wellness should you be diagnosed with Covid-19 in the two weeks following your treatment, you must inform us.
